Home made Deodorant

I know I know, I haven’t posted anything in the past few months… but …. I have been trying some recipes and I want to share them now that I know that they work : )

A few weeks ago I made my own deodorant and I have to admit I was a little skeptic at the beginning but I realized that our bodies are designed to perspire and I firmly believe that the more chemicals and junk you eliminate going into your body, the less of that stuff needs to find a way to escape.

Another reason why I’ve decided to try my own recipe is the cost. With the ingredients I used in this recipe the total cost of a jar of homemade deodorant is $1.

Homemade Deodorant

1/4 C. baking soda
1/4 C. cornstarch
6 T. coconut oil
a few drops of your favorite essential oil

Mix all the ingredients together and store it in a jar. You can either keep it in the refrigerator or in your bathroom (the other day I brought it with me to the gym and it sat the whole day in my gym bag in the car and since it was 90 degrees outside it melted 😦  that was not the smartest thing to do)

Hope you like it!
